2022 Indonesian Taxation Outlook

The year 2021 is a year of recovery and healing as we see Covid-19 vaccine being received by majority of the population. The Government of Indonesia continues to provide fiscal and non-fiscal support to businesses and societies to ensure the needs being met, and the pace of economic recovery is accelerated. Positive signals are all around as we believe 2022 will be a year where things start to again resemble what was like before pandemic, with challenges yet refreshing prospective.

On 7 October 2021, the Indonesian parliament passed the “Harmonization of Tax Regulations” (Harmonisasi Peraturan Perpajakan/HPP) Bill which is considered part of the Government’s strategic policy to achieve sustainable economic growth and boost economic recovery In Indonesia. On 25 November 2021, based on a decision made by Indonesia Constitutional Court, the Omnibus Law was declared as unconstitutional – the government needs to make revision following the formal legislative process in a grace period of 2 years, otherwise the Omnibus Law will be permanently constitutional. Our webinar will cover the issue based on the latest update.
