Dear AmCham Members and Friends, With the recent good news about a drop in Covid infections in Indonesia, schools are well toward at least some face to face learning again. But is this hybrid going to satisfy parents and educate children adequately? Join AmCham for a discussion on the issues.
A recent UNICEF report said COVID-19 is widening Indonesia’s education gap. In 2020, the pandemic caused 530,000 schools to close and shift to distance learning for 68 million students. While the pandemic brought forward many digital learning innovations, it also widened existing inequities in education for many children.
Now, however, more and more people are asking to go back to face-to-face learning. As Indonesian schools gear up to reopen, what are the prospects and possibilities for hybrid learning? How will Indonesia make the move back to full face-to-face learning?
