Totok Amin Soefijanto

Senior Policy Advisor, DKI Jakarta City Government in the Governor’s Delivery Unit

Totok Amin Soefijanto, Ed.D is currently working for the DKI Jakarta Government in the Governor’s Delivery Unit since January 2018. He is also an assistant professor at Paramadina University, independent doctorate advisor at the Jakarta State University, and senior fellow at The Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS).

He received an International Alumni Award from Boston University in 2014 for his service to the profession. He was a research assistant and consultant for the Harvard Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research (HPCPR) at Harvard University in 2000 – 2005. Totok received Fulbright, Ford, and The Kelly E. Stephens Memorial Scholarships for his graduate studies in the US. He is a graduate of IPB (Bogor Agricultural Institute) and has a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from: Emerson College and a Doctorate from Boston University in education.

Maya Nelson

Interim Head of School, Jakarta Intercultural School

Maya Nelson is currently the Interim Head of School at Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS). Prior to this, she served as the Deputy Head of School at JIS, Principal of both JIS Pondok Indah and JIS Pattimura Elementary Schools (2018-2020).

Maya has a distinguished career in education, having served as a teacher, a Student Services Director, and a Principal in various schools in both the United States and Asia (American School in Japan, Taipei American School, Hong Kong International School). Most importantly, Maya is a strong advocate for students. As a JIS alumna, she understands schools and education in Indonesia from her years as a student, a teacher, a parent of a recent graduate, and most recently, a senior administrator.

Shawn Hutchinson

Head of School, ACG School Jakarta

Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, Shawn has worked as a teacher and educational leader for over 20 years in Australia, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, China and New Zealand. He has worked in both public and private education and held roles in teaching and senior management in a variety of schools, including the ACG International School in Vietnam where he was Head of Secondary, the Beijing City International School in China where he was Principal of the secondary school, and most recently ACG Tauranga in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty region, where he was Principal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Theatre and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Australia’s University of Adelaide, as well as a Master of Special Education from Flinders University, Australia

Nina Handoko-Widodo

Nina Handoko-Widodo is an educator and the Chairwoman of “Yayasan Pendidikan Belajar Aktif” where she oversees several schools in North Jakarta ranging from pre-Kindergarten level to Junior College level with a total of almost 1000 students.

Besides her involvement in the education sector, Nina has been a corporate communication consultant for the past two decades, beginning her career at the world's largest public relations firms at that time, Burson-Marsteller, in both its Jakarta and Singapore offices. She regularly guest-lectures on Risk Management and Crisis Communications for graduate communications programs at several universities in Indonesia and abroad.

Nina is a mother of four children and she holds a Master of Science degree in Corporate Communications from Boston University, a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Theology from Boston College, as well as a Doctorate degree in Communications from Universitas Indonesia
